Sweet baby girl Scarlett was such a joy for her newborn session! This family traveled to my studio from Arlington, VA and even brought new big-sister Ellie and their adorable black lab pup to photograph with baby girl Scarlett. This beautiful mama and I have been friends since college and I’ve been honored to photograph their engagement session, maternity session and newborn session with their first daughter. This made it all the more exciting for me to photograph them now together as a family of 4 now with their newborn. Sweet baby girl Scarlett looked so beautiful in the cream and pink fabric we used – as well of course the color scarlett! I even captured the most amazing moment – a huge smile while looking straight at me! This almost never happens with babies this young, as the first awake smiles begin to occur after the first or second month, but this little sweetpea was all smiles for me. Her big sister was so adoring and maternal with her new baby sister, giving her kisses and hugs and touching her tiny nose and fingers one by one. Their black lab pub Lincoln was so good for his role too. He was so tender and kind with his tiny pals, and just wanted to be near everyone. Big sister Ellie is growing into such a beautiful grown up toddler, and told me all about her friends and her outfit and especially all about her new baby sister. She was so proud of her – it was amazingly adorable to watch. This family is so precious to me and I’ve loved watching them grow into the family they are now.
