I love photographing friends of ours – both because obviously it’s nice to spend time together but also because there is a level of comfort when the kids are used to being around their photographer. This family are just the best – super sweet and loving, funny and laid back – they are everything you’d want in a family photosession. We met up in downtown Frederick to take some new family photos for them, and we had a blast wandering around the brick sidewalks and baker park. The girls are so genuine and beautiful, and loved being together and having fun during our session. We ended at sunset just as the sun dipped behind the lake and the trees, and we captured the prettiest light. I love downtown Frederick sessions because of the mix of old and new. The colorful bold doors and gates bring so much color into the photos no matter what the season, and the old brick sidewalks and iron gates bring a measure of vintage into each session.
