There’s something magical about the ocean for me. No matter my worries or fears, when I’m listening to the waves crash with the sun on my face, there is just something so calming and reassuring about being by the sea. There is this gorgeous pocket of beach in South Florida I love so much, right in Jupiter, FL where the water turns this amazing shade of aqua and blue, the sand is buttery warm and even a few spots have some cool rock formations jutting into the ocean. There is a gorgeous line of sea grape foliage against the back side of the beach, creating vivid tropical green hues, and enormous sea turtles swim from all over the world to lay their eggs on the sand here. It’s truly magical, and a few times a year I do photosessions for families on these beaches to combine my love of the ocean with my photography love. This particular week was interesting because it happened to be the week of hurricane Irma heading to Florida, which was both scary and intimidating all at once. It was so strange to be on the beach in gorgeous weather, knowing that in a few days a hurricane rarely seen would run right over us. Thankfully this area didnt sustain too much damage, and now a month later most of the destruction has been fixed. It’s been a tough year for natural disasters here in America and abroad in our world – making me that much more thankful that I have these beautiful memories captured for me to preserve and look back on years and years to come. My beautiful children love having their photos taken (thankfully) and were awesome sports as we did a sunset and sunrise shoot back to back on this beautiful beach.
