As a photographer I find that wherever I go, I’m always subconsciously looking around for pretty photosession locations. Driving around I will spot a patch of color, and I’ll immediately start thinking about the options I could photograph there. This beautiful patch of purple wildflowers have bloomed right next to my own home for the last few years and it always catches my breath. It’s straight out of a fairy tale, and when I contacted the farmer who owns it to get permission to photograph there, I learned it’s interesting story. The farmer had sprayed the field with weed killer a few years ago, and the year after up popped all of these stunning purple flowers. Each year they grow, welcoming the beginning of fall with a sea of purple blooms. I love finding unique and local spots to use as photosession locations, and this one takes the cake. Frederick and Maryland are such beautiful spots. I photographed the property owner’s two beautiful daughters in the field as well as my own kids, and we had the best time.
