This family has been near and dear to my heart since I photographed their second baby’s baby plan about 5 years ago. They were living in London at the time and researched Washington DC newborn photographers back then and found me and the rest is history. About 10 sessions later and we’ve developed a friendship that only comes by years together watching each other’s families grow. When this family moved to North Carolina they wanted their beautiful vintage home town of New Bern photographed with them and I was so happy to be able to photograph them again. New Bern is the same gorgeous city featured in the Notebook and it was absolutely as pristine and charming as the book and movie portray. Little estuaries, Spanish moss, cotton fields, warm breezes off of the bay, pink sunsets, and vintage buildings in town – the whole thing was truly out of a storybook.
This session was unique in that she told me simply “I want you to style the whole thing” which was basically my dream come true. I started with a pinterest board full of a bunch of fun ideas, and then let her choose a few she gravitated towards. From there I pulled together outfits and accessories for each of the family members and she loved it! I wanted this session to be a vintage fairy tale mixed with southern charm, and I think it pulled together perfectly. The girls’ dresses totally blew my mind in real life as well! This family is so amazing – I loved photographing them so much and was so excited to do it again this past fall!
