As a kid growing up here in Frederick, Maryland I spent every Spring hiking into Sugarloaf mountain with my family to see the bluebells bloom. Bluebells are only found a few places in the world, and we are lucky to have an incredible meadow of them growing right on my studio property each April. They only bloom for a short while, but while they’re here I cant think of a more beautiful place in the entire world.
The downside – that we have to hike and drive through fits of mud and downed branches to get there. The terms – ‘off roading’ dont really even seem appropriate here…it is wayyyy more rugged than that.
So when one of my favorite clients contacted me to get a few images of her kids together (isnt that every parent’s toughest photo job – to get BOTH kids in the same frame and not pulling eachother’s hair?) I knew I’d finally found the people to head to this spot. They’re the perfect ages to think that fields of flowers are the homes of fairies and magic, and also are cool riding on a tractor.
Enjoy these sneak peeks of a one-of-a-kind location and a spectacular family.
Probably contemplating how many flowers she can run off with…
