I know Christmas was a few weeks ago but I’m just getting around to posting some of the images from our holidays. One of the hardest/best things about being a family portrait photographer in the Washington DC area is that our fall season is absolutely packed and insane. Between holiday card photos and the fact it’s peak foliage season coinciding at the same time, it creates a super busy fall which inevitably blends into the holidays. It’s busy and fun and exciting and needed and lovely and crazy at once. It always makes my holidays that much more special – both because I get to share in the experience with other amazing families and make their spirits bright, but also because at a certain point in mid December it is all done, and the last images have been mailed out to families, and I turn around and get to be super present and focused with my own family once again.
Each year I’ve had my kids do their annual Christmas tree photos and it’s been a lesson in patience for sure. The kids are wiggle worms and want to do everything except listen to night time instructions on how to pose and stand still. This year they seem so grown up to me, and it’s been so fun to see them progress year after year through these images. I love looking back through the years as these two grow, and it’s such a joy to be able to photograph a bit of their holiday magic together. Enjoy these annual Christmas tree photos of my children!
