Brand new studio! | Frederick Maryland newborn photographer

downtown Frederick Maryland photography newborn studio

Surprise – I have a new studio!!! I have been holding this secret in for a while and it feels like I’m going to burst with excitement!! I have had my old studio in Adamstown, Maryland for 8 years and have always wanted a space in downtown Frederick, Maryland. I never really found the right spot though, as they were either too small, too big, up three flights of stairs (not great for new moms to walk or carry car seats up!) or just didnt work for one reason or another. I felt like goldilocks not ever finding the right fit. I knew though how much time, money and energy goes into picking a studio and setting it up, so I didnt want to rush and pick something that would ultimately fail.

On a whim I searched craigslist one day and came across this listing for a small space, and hit it off with the landlord immediately. The street was perfect, with parking right out front and a gorgeous old building right in downtown Frederick. I liked it but it didnt have the wow factor I had been looking for. As I left I noticed a side space that the landlord mentioned was coming available as well, and oh.my.gosh.guys. I walked into a space filled with light, huge tall ceilings, a gorgeous fireplace, deep plaster windowsills, pocket doors, french doors, and the kicker was a massive exposed brick wall in the back room. It was absolutely perfect – my dream studio space.

I moved in to my new studio on March 1st and spent about a month setting it up, buying furniture, buying new samples, wall display galleries, and even spray painting my own DIY desk when the one I fell in love with was no longer for sale. I had so much fun putting this together and truly think this studio is my dream space. I have had 7 sessions already inside and each one flows so well and there is so much space to spread out and relax, let alone shoot in.

I love working there, and with my youngest daughter going to kindergarten in the fall I look forward to many days working in here editing and packaging up orders, while popping out to meet friends or clients for coffee and lunch in the adorable downtown frederick area. Baker Park is right next to us too, so a quick walk and I’m able to photograph families outside as well as inside. I’m so excited to grow into this space and photograph my families here in this pristine beautiful studio!!

The new address is 263 West Patrick Street, Frederick Maryland – my new studio home!
