One of the most fun parts of being a photographer is seeing my work in print. It is awesome to see my images on a computer screen, but seeing and holding them printed is such a classic and beautiful way to view them. Sometimes my descriptions for them though sound perfectly normal to me, but to families just beginning to print their images they arent sure what these things all are. Enter exhibit A – the gallery mounted storyboard. I have been using these for 9 years in my studio and still find them to be one of my favorite methods of printing collages for families. They are beautiful photographing prints adhered to a wood mount with a classic beveled edge. I do them mostly in white, but they do also come in black. They come ready to hang if you’d like to put them on the wall, but my favorite option to display them is simply leaned on a console table or leaned into an easel on a coffee table or dresser. I’ve even known some families to drill holes in the sides and hang it from a ribbon – though I am not crafty enough to figure that one out!
These are heirloom quality displays and such a fun way to showcase a collage of prints from a session. I love this design with 5 images, and it’s been my favorite way to print them for years. I also love a single panoramic image depending on the image, and a collage of a simple 3 or 4 images can also be beautiful. I even have some families who do a baby plan pick a favorite image from all of the milestones and create a beautiful first year storyboard. I basically love everything about these!

Hi Cari! Yes I was so sad to hear about prolabexpress going out of business. I haven’t found an exact match but millers lab has some similar options. I’ll email you some more details too!
