One of my favorite things about photography is that it’s allowed me to see new locations and parts of the world while photographing the most lovely people along the way. Recently I’ve begun taking on more of these travel family photo sessions, as families take trips or move away, and want me to photograph them in a new location or while on an adventure. I love dreaming up these locations and travel photo sessions with these families, and other times I pick a spot I’ve been admiring and pack my camera gear and head there, meeting families at my chosen spots. This year has brought me all over the world, including my recent trip to Alberta Canada and the gorgeous Canadian Rocky mountains. The water in their lakes were unlike anything I’d ever seen before, and the wildlife and trees and crisp mountain air were all straight out of a dream.
I loved photographing some gorgeous people while there, and I made a point to do a fun session with my own two kids. They are so sweet when I ask them to take photos of them, getting all excited about their new outfits, picking out poses and doing funny faces, and all around getting a kick out of being with each other. I know that not every kid (especially photographer’s kids!) are great at allowing us to take their photos, but my memories of them while they’re young and growing together, creating memories in these magical places – absolutely makes my heart soar.
I love their beautiful clothing I sourced from some of my favorite children’s clothing vendors, and think they were a huge part of why I love these images so much! The combination of the magical scenery, the beautiful clothing (and of course the amazingly cute kids) made for a perfect session. I love photographing these travel family photo sessions across the world and am excited about more adventures to come this year! Enjoy these sneak peeks of these adorable kids of mine!
