Photographing this group of cousin kids and siblings with all of their parents and grandparents was such an amazing experience. Being near Washington DC, I seem to get some families here on their vacations, others who just happen to live here and have relatives coming in for the holidays. Either way I love getting to see big families come together in a unique celebration being themselves and having fun. While the amount of people involved adds a different dynamic to a family session, extended family photos are normally SO MUCH FUN. Most of the people havn’t seen each other in a while, so everyone is usually laughing and happy – they’re rarely a formal event and are much more joyful and happy than one may imagine.
This extended family here is a perfect example of this! They hardly stopped laughing together, were joyful and laid back, and made photographing a total party. This family is truly one of the best – so kind and lovely, beautiful and sweet and funny too. All of the cousin children were having so much fun together and had the sweetest faces. We even ended up with a rainbow at the very end of the session – which is truly incredible. I loved being able to photograph all these cousins and kids around this beautiful Maryland field.
