My sweet darling baby girl is 9 months old now. I absolutely love this stage with babies. Siena is starting to play games with us – crawling away as fast as she can and then at the last second turning around to surprise us and then hysterically laughing. She laughs when I say no. She laughs at her big brother. She loves meeting us with a smile first thing in the morning and after naps, and for some reason is obsessed with a throw pillow in her room. She has 2.5 teeth in so far, will pretty much eat anything we give her, and hates to be rocked or cuddled – just held. She says mama and dada but not necessarily in our direction, and would give anything to be able to catch the cat. She has started to give us hugs, but would honestly prefer to hug the throw pillow mentioned above.
We cant forget about Heath – our big 2.5 year old who is the light of our lives. So full of energy, humor, personality and fun, he has us in constant laughter from the moment we wake up until we go to bed. He already has learned to totally manipulate us into additional TV shows, games of ball, extra cookies, or minutes before bedtime. He is sweet and compassionate and loving, but has a wicked sense of humor. He loves music, dancing and singing, knows every letter of the alphabet (upper and lower!), can count to 20 in English and to 2 in Spanish (hey we’re getting there), and loves no one like he loves his little sister.
This season, this week, I am especially grateful for these two kids.
They are the light of our lives as well. Love those little faces!
