Most of the families that come to me have hopes and visions of beautiful poses, custom curated props, and tiny details captured in my beautiful studio or their home. Sometimes however, life throws you a curve ball, and your perfect vision of a newborn session is in the PICU at John’s Hopkins hospital in Baltimore, hooked up to tubes and grateful and thankful that you have made it this far together.

Sweet baby B has had a long road since birth in the hospital, and his amazingly strong parents wanted these precious moments photographed together when he was still tiny and new. Incredibly, these are some of my favorite newborn photos ever taken, even without all the pretty props and blankets and hats. This newborn session was just about love. Love for this beautiful baby boy who has changed everyone’s lives for the better, love for each other as they walk this new normal together, and love for their new family of 3. Enjoy these sneak peeks of this beautiful family as they approached the eve of baby B’s big surgery (which he went through strong and successfully!) and as they cherish this beautiful day with each other.
