What a crazy world we’re living in now with the Corona virus shuttering doors for small businesses, sending thousands into the hospital, and closing schools and activities all around us. One of the closures that broke hearts all around me were the closure of our local kids sports and activities. My daughter dances at a local studio and practices all year long for a single year end recital in June. This recital is what they work hard for throughout the year, and it’s something we all look forward to enjoying. These photos from last year’s recital costume were done at my studio and you can see how much she loves the entire production. She LOVED getting to try on her recital outfit and show me all her moves, create her own poses and strike a bunch of smiles and silly faces. She had a ball and I loved getting to see this side of her from behind the camera. She is such a fun and beautiful girl and I’m so lucky to call her mine. I love seeing her dance – especially since dancing was something I never really did as an activity when I was a child. She loves being up on stage and learning all the different moves, wearing the costumes and getting to see her friends at dance class. I’ve embraced the role as ‘dance mom’ and it’s such a fun experience to photograph her like this as well. While it breaks my heart to see their studio struggling and not being able to put on their show (especially for the senior dancers) I’m glad I was able to document her role as a dancer in front of the camera.

Together we will make it through – hugs to all the seniors dealing with the Corona virus shut downs and working to keep everyone safe.
