This beautiful Boston family also happens to be my best friend and her amazing husband and gorgeous (almost 1 year old) daughter! I have been best friends with this awesome mama since we were freshman in college at Wake Forest University (just the greatest school on earth by the way – totally unbiased opinion of course). I was honored to photograph them for their ‘day before’ photo session before their wedding day (amazing) and also for their maternity session when they traveled down to Washington DC on a mini baby moon. When sweet baby M arrived I flew up to meet her and photographed her newborn session as well! I got to photograph her again when she was about 6 months old when they came down to visit in the Spring, and I am so glad I got to see her up in her own city for her 1 year session this Summer.
Boston is such an incredible town and you can’t help but fall in love with it when you visit. From the brick lined sidewalks, to the ivy covered iron gates, Boston is an old city with such incredible charm. I loved seeing miss M explore the old city streets, crawling around and walking her first few steps, being an adorable city kid and Boston baby. Her beautiful parents are so great with her, making her smile and laugh even though we were unexpectedly caught in a HUGE thunderstorm right as our session began. In all 10+ years of me photographing families, I have never began a session with no threat of bad weather, only to have a massive storm lightning and rain down on us seconds into the session. I couldnt believe it! I kept laughing too because seconds before the rain came I was telling them I was enjoying the gorgeous sunny day, and people were walking all over the city enjoying the beautiful weather. Then a second later the storm hit and suddenly out of no where EVERYONE had umbrellas. Except for me of course. But where were these people hiding them? And how did they know to bring them? So many funny and crazy things can happen when you travel, which makes for the best stories and in this case the best photos. They brought a super cute clear umbrella with polka dots – perfect for a little colorful baby girl.
The rain ended up getting too crazy towards the end of our session so we made a break for it back to the hotel, but even with it cut short I loved everything about this session – enjoy these amazing sneak peeks of the most beautiful almost 1 year old baby girl!
